It seems through repetition and redirects this generation has flown the banner of self-love and our culture has in time redefined the meaning of words such as “love” and “truth”. By simply changing what a word means you make allowance to call “love” and “truth” whatever you want them to be.

When we seek to draw love out of a person then that is the love we possess to give back to them and that is a limited source, to say the least.

Our well is dry and we fill it with using people and loving things vs. loving people and using things. So we are not loving but it’s more like “love to be loved by others’. This redefined world view leaves us empty and lacking power to love others as we might desire to.

But when God’s great love breaks through our hard hearts and living waters begin to fill our hearts (our spiritual well) we no longer need to pull from people but the free gift of a love that can never separate or run dry will flow from a satisfied soul.

Let’s stop trying to redefine love and accept an unfailing love that is the most powerful force in the universe and it’s called – the LOVE of GOD.

This is a love that defines you and I and it gives us meaning. Not the other way around.

Romans 8:35-39Amplified Bible (AMP)

35 Who shall ever separate us from the love of [a]Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 Just as it is written and forever remains written,

“For Your sake, we are put to death all day long;

We are regarded as sheep the slaughter.”

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. 38 For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord

1 Corinthians 16:14 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Let everything you do be done in love [motivated and inspired by God’s love for us].
